Thomas "Tom" Curtis Davis, 72, of Ooltewah, died Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2003, in a local health care facility.

He was a native of Polk County, Tenn., but had lived in the Chattanooga area most of his life.

He was an Army veteran and a member of Gamble Road Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Alma Davis, Ooltewah; son and daughter-in-law, Ronald and Patti Davis, Cleveland ; son, Troy Davis, Georgetown; daughter, Joyce Davis and Ricky Dobbins, Chattanooga; daughter and son-in-law, Sheila and Don McDaniel, Harrison ; three sisters, Ruth and Bill Eaves, Calhoun, Tenn., Lucille Hamilton, Athens, Tenn., and Troy Edmonds, Oliver Springs, Tenn.; grandchildren, Tonia and Kevin Martin and Kelly and Brandon Simpson, Harrison, Jeanna Davis, Apison, and Taylor Davis, Mount Airy, Ga.; great-grandchildren, Brandon and Bonnie Phillips and Jacob Sanders, Apison, and Aaron Simpson and Riley Martin, Harrison; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in the Highway 58 Chapel with the Rev. Gurney Beard officiating.

Alma Iona "Owney" Davis, 74, of Ooltewah, died Tuesday, March 4, 2003, in a local health care facility after a lengthy illness.

A native of McMinn County, she had lived most of her life in the Chattanooga area and was retired from McKee Foods Corporation after 21 years of service. She was a member of Gamble Road Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Thomas Curtis Davis, last Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2003.

Survivors include two sons and one daughter-in-law, Ronald and Patti Davis of Cleveland, and Troy Davis of Georgetown; two daughters and one son-in-law, Joyce Davis and Ricky Dobbins, both of Chattanooga, and Sheila and Don McDaniel of Harrison; her brothers and sisters-in-law, M.C. and Ruby Partain of Clearwater, Fla., Lewis and Doris Partain and Robert "Buddy" Partain, all of Athens; one sister and brother-in-law, Betty and Austin Teague of Athens; her grandchildren, Tonia and Kevin Martin, Kelly and Brandon Simpson, all of Harrison, Jeanna Davis of Apison, and Taylor Davis of Mt. Airy, Ga.; her great-grandchildren, Brandon and Bonnie Phillips, Jacob Sanders, all of Apison, and Aaron Simpson and Riley Martin, both of Harrison; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday in the Highway 58 Chapel of Turner Funeral Home with the Rev. Gurney Beard officiating. Burial will follow in the Gamble Road Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
