James "Sammy" Davis, 53, of Soddy-Daisy, died at his home after a lengthy illness Wednesday, March 23, 2005. Mr. Davis was of the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Shelia Davis.

He is survived by his mother, Lelia Davis, of Soddy-Daisy; son, Jay Davis and wife, Tabathia, of Red Bank; three brothers, Bob Davis, of Hixson, Ronnie Davis, of Bakewell, and Gary Davis, of Red Bank; three sisters, Betty Green and Francis Walker, both of Soddy-Daisy, Marie Nix, of Hixson; and two grandchildren, Paige Davis and Trevor Baldwin.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Williamson & Sons Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Melvin Walker officiating.

Interment will follow in Smith Cemetery.

The family will receive friends after 2 p.m. Friday.

Arrangements are by Williamson & Sons Funeral Home.
