Jackie was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Gertrude Penney; brothers, Arnold, Dougle and Ross Penney; sister, Anita Revels and husband, Jimmy Davis.  She was a loving and devoted mother to her special needs son who was the light of her life.

Jackie is survived by her son, Tony; sisters, Jean (Jack) Gregory and Thelma (Wendell) Walker, all of Soddy-Daisy and several nieces and nephews and many loyal friends.

A private family graveside service will be held on Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at East Soddy Community Cemetery.  There will be no visitation at the funeral home.  A memorial service for friends will be at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Smokey Mountain Children’s Home, 449 McCarn Circle, Sevierville, TN 37862, where she adopted her precious son 46 years ago.

The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to the staff of Hospice of Chattanooga for all the care they gave to Jackie during her stay, her home health providers and caregivers and to Dr. Adele Ackell for her concern and advices.

Tony Obit:
On Thursday, August 6, James Anthony “Tony” Davis, ran into the arms of Sweet Jesus. He has a brand new body! He can now walk, run and talk! Even though Tony had some physical and mental disabilities, he was dearly loved and had a good life. Tony loved Mickey Mouse and had a wide variety of figurines. Relatives and friends would bring him pennies so he could “feed” his Mickey Mouse bank. He also loved playing with little Hot Wheels cars and was quite good at dumping all of his puzzles on the floor and quickly putting them together. He would get a big kick out of Aunt Thelma fussing at Uncle Wendell for calling him “Ole Flap-Jaw Davis”. Tony would laugh and want Thelma to fuss at Wendell more. When he was going to a doctor’s appointment, he would recognize the golden arches of McDonalds and could not wait for his cheeseburger, fries and milk shake. Every birthday he enjoyed his favorite chocolate cake. Since he was a baby, he had the most deep, infectious laugh. His family would call it a “belly laugh”.

Tony was born on July 29, 1967, and lived his entire life in Soddy-Daisy. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Allen and Jacqueline Penney Davis.

He is survived by his “second mother”, Aunt Thelma Walker and her children Penny, Karen and Scott Walker along with other relatives.

Special appreciation is given to his extended family, Shavon Thomas, Angela Williams, Carmelitta Domino, Laquisha Smartt, James Shropshire, Cordell Odom and Deundra Lovingood, who cared for him the last six years of his life. They gave him the love and attention he deserved and required.

Heartfelt thanks is given to his nurse, Lavonne Henshaw; his State advocate, Nikki Merriwether (who always had Tony’s best interest at heart); and the Hospice of Chattanooga caregivers and medical team who made his transition much easier.

The Walker family would also like to express their gratitude to the staff of Williamson and Sons Funeral Home who has once again made this difficult time less difficult.

His interment was held on Sunday, August 9, 2020 at East Soddy Community Cemetery.

Condolences and memories can be shared at www.williamsonandsons.com.
