Betty Sue Davis, 77, of Soddy-Daisy, died on Saturday, May 2, 2009 at her home.

She was born on February 26, 1932 on Mowbray Mountain. She enjoyed attending country music shows and meeting many of the big stars over the years. Later in life she was employed by the Chattanooga Choo Choo Hilton and had many fond memories from there.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Cloyd Davis; parents, George and Gailie Grant; brothers, George Grant Jr., Bernard Grant; sisters, Elva Grant, Opal Johnson, and Myrtle Hixson.

She is survived by her daughters, Stella (Jim) Oldham of Graysville, Gail (Robert) Hart of Hixson, Diane Vincent and Jack Elsea of Soddy-Daisy; son, Kenneth (Hasmig) Davis of York, Pa.; sister, Doris (Dub) London of Soddy-Daisy; brothers, Randall (Elaine) Grant of Soddy-Daisy, Thomas (Emma Lou) Grant of Soddy-Daisy; grandchildren, Freda Oldham, Nathan Vincent, Adam Johnson; great-grandchildren, Brianna Oldham, Elizabeth Johnson; several nieces and nephews.

Graveside service will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Varner Cemetery Mowbray Mountain with Dr. Al Goss officiating. Family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until time of service Tuesday at the funeral home.
