Sylvia L. Hixson, 95, of Soddy Daisy, died on Friday, Aug. 28, 2009.
She was a member of Mile Straight Baptist Church.
Her husband, Murl Hixson; son, Norman Hixson; and a grandson, Douglas Hixson, preceded her in death.
She is survived by her daughters, Stella Hixson, of Hixson, Dorothy Ashley, of Evensville, Tn.; grandchildren, David Ashley, Gary Ashley, Jeff Ashley, Danny Hixson, Wayne Hixson, Terry Hixson, Gary Hutton; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 31, at Williamson and Sons Funeral Home with the Rev. John Pair and Dr. Al Goss officiating.
Burial will follow in Foster-Hixson Cemetery. Her grandsons will be serving as pallbearers.
Visitation is from 3-9 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
The family would like to express heartfelt thanks to Hospice of Chattanooga for their support during this time.
