Curtis Lynn Hixson, 74, of Hixson, died on Wednesday, August 18, 2004.

Lynn was a native of Red Bank and a 1948 graduate of Red Bank High School. He graduated from Tennessee Tech in 1952 and retired from the Electric Power Board after 23 years of service.

Lynn was a lifelong member of Red Bank Cumberland Presbyterian Church. He served as an Elder, Sessions Clerk for the Elders, as an overseer for many of the building improvements and new construction at the church. Lynn organized many church trips for the Gadabouts group. He was a member of the Fellowship Sunday School Class and in 1993 the fellowship hall was named after Lynn.

Lynn enjoyed genealogy and restoring the church history. He served as past president for the Huguenot Society of Tennessee and the Antique Car Club, Chickamauga Region.

Lynn was a member of the Sons of the American Revolution, John Sevier Chapter where he served as past president, secretary and treasurer.
He was very active in Habitat for Humanity, loved woodworking, clock making and restoring Antique Cars.

Lynn took great pride in serving as treasurer and overseeing many projects at Foster Hixson Cemetery.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dewey and Ethel Hixson.

Lynn is survived by his wife of 50 years, Kathleen Moody Hixson; sons, Lynn Bernard "Barney" Hixson and wife, Gayle, of Hixson, Jeffrey Alan Hixson and wife, Karen, of Huntsville, AL; grandchildren, Chad Brown, of Hixson, Susan Hixson, of Huntsville and Stephanie Hixson of Hixson; sister, Dewie Sue Hall, of Ooltewah, and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be conducted at 5 p.m. on Saturday at the Red Bank Cumberland Presbyterian Church with Rev. Jeff Sledge officiating.
The family will receive friends from 2-5 p.m. on Saturday at the church.

Burial will be private at Foster Hixson Cemetery.

Arrangements are by the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist.
