Luther Harlen Hixson, 63, of Hixson, died of cancer at a local hospital on Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2004.

Luther had lived in Middle Valley all his life and was retired from Bi-Lo /Red Food Stores with over 39 years of service. He attended Community Baptist Church.

Luther was the son of the late Louise and W. Foster Hixson and was also preceded in death by a brother, Alvin Hixson.

He is survived by his brothers, Ralph "Bud" and wife Nancy, John "Billy" and wife Stella, Marvin and wife Joyce, and Charles Hixson; sisters, Wilma H. and husband, Thomas Tomisek, and Carolyn H. and husband Herbert Brown, all of Chattanooga, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. on Friday at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.

Interment will be in Foster Hixson Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6–8 p.m. Thursday and from 1-2:30 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Foster Hixson Cemetery in care of Wilma Tomisek, 2103 Crown Court Lane, Chattanooga, TN 37421.
Arrangements are by the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist.
