Lorraine G. Hixson of Sale Creek died Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2000, at the home of her daughter in Spring City, Tenn. She was 88.
She was a Methodist.
Mrs. Hixson was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil "Bill" Hixson; and two sons, Milton Metcalf and Almus Metcalf.
Survivors include three daughters, Sue Grant, Atlanta, Carolyn Mainord, Sale Creek and Doris Leffew, Spring City; son, William Hixson, Hixson; two sisters, Maye Iuppa, Rochester, N.Y., and Francis Copper, Fort Worth, Texas; 11 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Williamson & Sons Funeral Home, Soddy-Daisy, with the Rev. Kenneth Bolton officiating.
Burial will be in Foster-Hixson Cemetery.
Visitation will be today after 1 p.m.

Virgil "Bill" Hixson of Graysville died Wednesday, May 6, 1998, in a local hospital.
He was 79. He was an Army veteran, Baptist, and member of Ironworkers Local 704. Survivors include his wife, Lorraine G. Hixson, Graysville; four daughters, Doris Fulghum, Graysville, Carolyn Mainord, Sale Creek, Pearl Brown, Rossville, Ga., and Sue Grant, Atlanta; two sons, Virgil Hixson Jr., Harrison, and William Hixson, Graysville; three sisters, Marie Ferguson and Bessie Jones, both of Hixson, and Artie Davis, Soddy-Daisy; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Williamson and Sons Funeral Home with minister Kenneth Bolton officiating.
Burial will be in Foster Cemetery.
