Hazel R. Hixson, 87, a lifelong resident of Hamilton County, died Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2003, in a local hospital.
She and her late husband, Jerome Hixson, operated the Hixson Grocery Store Filling Station and Trailer Park for many years. The business was located near Falling Water, Tenn.
She was a member of Red Bank Baptist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Helen White of Signal Mountain; a grandson, Steven White of Chattanooga; and a sister, Mary Roberts, also of Chattanooga.
A graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in Foster-Hixson Cemetery with the Rev. Bert Jones officiating.
The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until 12:15 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
A processional will leave the funeral home at 12:15 p.m. Thursday.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army.
