Ralph Obit:
Ralph D. "Skinny" Penney, 88, of Soddy-Daisy, died on Saturday, March 12, 2005.
He was a member of North Hixson Church of God. He was retired from TVA and a World War II Navy veteran. He was an avid fox hunter and enjoyed people and life in general.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret Penney of Soddy-Daisy; one son, Doyle Penney; two daughters, Shirley Jenkins and Wanda Wilson; two brothers, Jim and Bill Penney; one sister, Betty Hankins, all of Soddy-Daisy; several nieces and nephews; nine grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Byron Henderson, the Rev. Willard Griffin and the Rev. Rick Smith officiating.
Interment will follow in East Soddy Church of God Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. and 6-9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Arrangements are by Williamson & Sons Funeral Home.
Margaret Obit:
Margaret A. Penney, 86, of Soddy-Daisy, died on Monday May 1, 2006.
She was a kind and gentle person who loved to be outside working in her yard. She always had a smile for those around her and brought much joy to her family and friends.
She was a member of North Hixson Church of God and was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph "Skinny" Penney.
She is survived by her two daughters, Shirley Jenkins and Wanda Wilson; one son, Doyle Penney; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the chapel of Williamson & Sons Funeral Home with the Rev. Willard Griffin and the Rev. Matthew Henderson officiating. Interment will be in East Soddy Community Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Curt Jenkins, Vaughn Engle, Jackie Kirby, Randy Penney, Matthew Henderson and Willard Griffin.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
