Sherrill E. Penney of Soddy-Daisy, died Friday, May 12, 2000, in a local hospital.
He was 68. Mr. Penney was retired from Beasley Distributors and was the owner of Penney's Place Lounge in Soddy-Daisy.
He was a nationally known breeder of game cocks.
Survivors include three daughters, Sherlyan Dent, Soddy-Daisy, Rhonda Floyd, Red Bank, and Jennifer Woodward, Memphis; two sons, Terry Penney and Dustin Penney, both of Soddy-Daisy; three sisters, Frances Henry, Helen Johnson and Sue Hatfield, all of Soddy-Daisy; three brothers, Teddy, Donald and Owen Penney, all of Soddy-Daisy; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Williamson and Sons Funeral Home with the Rev. Jackie Penney and the Rev. Warren Beavers officiating.
Burial will be in Wilcoxen Cemetery.
Visitation will be today after 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
