Edwin L. Johnson, 81, of Soddy-Daisy, passed away on Friday, Oct. 14, 2016. He was retired from the Hamilton County School System after many years of service. He was also a former employee at Signal Knitting Mills. Edwin was a member of the Daisy Church of God and was an avid coon hunter and outdoorsman.

Edwin was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Iva Mae Johnson; brothers, Henry, Walter, Ernest and Raymond Johnson and sisters, Margaret Brackett, Ruby Gothard and Clara Perry. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Nannie Hatfield Johnson; daughter, Gloria Johnson Rogers; son, Mark (Vanessa) Johnson; beloved grandchildren, Rebecca and Miles Johnson; brothers, Russell Johnson, Burl (Velma) Johnson, Carl (Bess) Johnson, and two sisters, Grace (Estell) Watts and Gladys Frizzell.

Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2016, at Williamson & Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Caleb Bolton officiating. Burial will follow in Johnson Cemetery. Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Ricky Hatfield, Tim Frizzell, Tim Chastain, Jim Petty, Wayne Brown and Ronnie Harris; honorary pallbearers will be the members of the Mens Gideon Bible Class at the Daisy Church of God.
