Mildred Ruth Davis Smith, 90, of Soddy-Daisy went home to be with her Lord and loved ones on Sunday, August 21, 2011. She was born January 7, 1921 in Daisy, TN. to John R. Flora Wilson Davis and was the oldest member of Hickory Grove Foot Washing Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond L. Smith, daughter, Wilma Dean Eustice, her parents, brothers, Paul, Terrell, and Mancel Davis, sisters, Geneva Patterson, Catherine Shadwick, and Joyce Smith.
Survivors are her son, Gary R. (Susan) Smith, daughters, Ruth A. (Robert) Sholtz, Norma L. (Cliff) Dodd all of Soddy-Daisy, nine grandchildren and step great-grandchildren, sisters, Elsie Hall and Almedia Davis of Soddy-Daisy, cousins, nephews, nieces, and friends.
Funeral service will be 2:00 P.M. Wednesday in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Bobby Webb and the Rev. Melvin Walker officiating. Interment will follow the service in Smith Family Cemetery. Family will receive friends after 5 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home. The family would like to thank Hospice of Chattanooga, Jennifer, Tanya, Shawana, Larry, Brenda, Beckey, Dr. Rader and Dr. Terry Brunvoll for the compassionate care given to our mother.
