Minnie Lee Smith, 77, died at her home on Friday, March 19, 2004.

She was born in Trenton, Ga., grew up in Straight Creek, Ky., and was a lifelong resident of Chattanooga and a charter member of Memorial Baptist Church of Hixson.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy C. Smith, and her parents, John J. and Mary Edith Housley.

She is survived by her children, Mac Lasley of Bowling Green, Ky., Barbara Sue Smith-Terry of Red Bank and Joe Smith of Hixson; grandchildren, Lisa Harper, Lana Devaney, Cindy Goins, Mary Terry, Missy Zbinden, Ann Tillotson, Andy Smith and Abbey Smith; seven great-grandchildren; several foster grandchildren; and several nieces; nephews; and her sister, Alma Ashley of Hixson.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.

Burial will be at Foster Hixson Cemetery.

The family will receive and friends from 4 until 8 p.m. today, Saturday, and on Sunday from noon until time of service.
