Jan. 30, 1931 - Jan. 11, 2022
Married July 13, 1956
It is with a broken heart that the family of Charlotte Lucille (Fritts) Petty announce that she received her wings and entered into heaven, January 11, 2022. Charlotte was born January 30, 1937 to Leonard and Louise (Davis) Fritts. She weighed 2 pounds full term and she considered that a true blessing to have been born so tiny and to have lived for 84 years. What a reunion day she had as she entered into heaven. She was reunited with all her family, friends and loved ones that went on before her. There waiting on her was her first-born daughter that was deceased at birth. She was finally able to see her and hold her for the first time after 64 years. Also deceased was her parents, Leonard and Louise (Davis) Fritts, sister, Shirley (Fritts) Green, brother, Sidney and (Carol) Fritts, brother, Dennie Fritts, nephew, Mike Green, niece, Brittany Fritts, father and mother in law, Jim and Lorene Petty (whom she loved like a mother), a very special aunt Reita (Fritts) Loftis and her best friend Lenora Lovelady, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her husband of 65 years, Marvin Petty, daughter and son in law, Kim (Petty) Garner and Ted Garner, the love of her life, her grandson, Taylor Garner, he was the joy of her life, as well as her fur baby, Shorty.
She is also survived by her sister, Gaila (Donnie) Wright, brothers, Bill (Pat) Fritts, Bennie (Susan) Fritts, many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and beloved neighbors.
Charlotte gave her life to her Lord and Savior as a young girl and never waivered. She loved and served Him faithfully every single day. She loved people and loved to tell them about her Jesus and what he had done for her and what he could do for them. We can only imagine upon her arrival that Jesus was waiting on her and that he said “Enter in my good and faithful child, Job well done!”
Charlotte loved her church, Rechoboth Baptist where she was faithful until her sickness. She had a mind and memory that was sharp as a tack. She could remember people, faces, names and all family and friends birthdays and would faithfully send cards until Dementia took that all away. She was the sweetest, kindest, faithful, most loving person. She just loved people and would tell you that she did. She was a faithful Christian woman who loved her Jesus! Loving and faithful wife, mother, Nan, daughter, sister and friend.
She will be truly be missed by her family and all that knew her.
The family would like to thank Amedisys Hospice of Chattanooga, especially her nurse Courtney and friend for being such a sweet, kind loving nurse and friend to my mother. For the weekend nurses, Carla, Christy, Grizzie and the CNA Crystal.
Thank you to her sister Gaila for all you did for her.
A big thank you goes out to her son in law Ted and grandson Taylor for all the help all these years, I could not have done this without your help!
