Obituary:
James Kyle Petty, 30, of Soddy-Daisy, Tennessee passed away on Monday, April 4, 2022. Kyle graduated from McCallie School and the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. He loved Indy Car racing and was a proud fan of the University of Tennessee Volunteers, Chicago Blackhawks, Atlanta Falcons, and Atlanta Braves. Kyle took the time to appreciate good music, urban art, and great food. He loved his long-time friends whom he grew up with and shared many memories together, especially on the field of play. He was a kind and compassionate friend and cherished by so many, especially by his beloved dog Remi who was always there by his side. Kyle loved and was greatly loved by his family. Preceded in death by his great-grandparents; Russell Pickett, Lorene and James Petty, Harland and Bessie Sutherland and Hillard and Lillie Hatfield; grandparents; Norman and Lucille Petty.
Survivors are his parents; James and Kathy Petty; brother, Josh and MaKinzie Petty; grandparents David Hatfield, Marie Hackney, Marilyn Pickett; aunt, Debra and uncle, Brad Long; cousins, Baylee Long, Cody Watson, Caleb Watson; several other aunts, uncles and cousins and extended family.
Services will be on Friday, April 8, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. L.J. Rowden officiating. Burial will follow at Millsaps Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Greg Thompson, Sam Robison, Cliff Patty, James Cupo, Forrest Cate, and Battle Glascock. Visitation is Thursday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
