Thomas obit:
Thomas Lamar Grant, 90, of Soddy-Daisy, TN, passed away March 17, 2018. He was one of the few remaining of the original pioneer family members that settled on Mowbray Mountain. Thomas retired from Borg Textiles in Rossville, Georgia. He was the owner/operator of Grant’s Service Station for forty seven years.
His wife of seventy years, Emma Lou Grant along with five sisters and two brothers preceded him in death.
Thomas is survived by his son, Doyle (Wanda) Grant; twin daughters, Tonja G. (Rickey) Jones and Sonja (James) Jones; a brother, Randall (Elaine) Grant; grandchildren, Melinda Swafford, Cilecia Grant (Paul Gagnon), Colton H. Jones and Jennifer Johnson; great-grandchildren, Garrett Swafford and Zachary Swafford; several nieces and nephews and his little dog, Nemo.
His family wants to especially thank Jennifer Johnson and Brenda Underwood for all the loving care and support they provided. They also want to thank the nurses with Hospice of Chattanooga, Amanda, Shanna, Kathy and Becky.
In lieu of flowers his family requests memorial donations to: Grant-Varner Cemetery C/O Lamar Carr, 10503 Grant Road, Soddy Daisy, TN 37379.
Visitation is 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Sunday at Williamson & Sons Funeral Home. Services will be 11:00 A.M. Monday, March 19, 2018 in the funeral home chapel with Richard Floyd officiating. Burial will follow in Grant-Varner Cemetery.

Emma Lou Grant, 87, of Mowbray Mountain, passed away September 9, 2015 after a brief illness. Her parents, William L. Davis and Nola Penny Davis and all her brothers and sisters preceded her in death.
Emma Lou is survived by her husband of seventy years, Thomas Grant, a son and daughter-in-law, Doyle and Wanda Grant; her twin daughters, Tonja Jones and her husband Rickey; Sonja Grant and her fiancé’ James Jones. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Melinda Swafford, Cilecia Grant and her fiancé’ Paul Gagnon, Colton H. Jones and Jennifer Johnson; her great-grandchildren, Garrett Swafford and Zachary Swafford and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Varner Cemetery, C/O Lamar Carr, 10503 Grant Road, Soddy-Daisy, TN 37379.
The funeral service will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday, September 12, 2015 at Williamson & Sons Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Grant-Varner Cemetery. Visitation is 6:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home.
