Roy Jefferson "J.R." Wilson of Ooltewah died Friday, July 23, 1999, in a local hospital.

He was a Navy veteran of World War II, a member of VFW Post 1289 and Fairview Baptist Church.

He had worked for Dickie Clay Co., and retired from Norfolk Southern Railroad.

Survivors include his wife, Loretta Harold Wilson; daughter, Retta Jean Davis, Etowah; sister, Betty Smith, Ooltewah; two brothers, David Wilson, Florida and James Wilson, Macon, Ga.; sister, Betty Smith, Ooltewah; two grandchildren.

Services will be Monday at 1 p.m. at the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with the Rev. William Swanson officiating.

Burial will be in Varnell Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 2 to 9 p.m. and from 11 a.m. until the time of service Monday at the funeral home.
