Roy Jefferson "J.R." Wilson of Ooltewah died Friday, July 23, 1999, in a local hospital.
He was a Navy veteran of World War II, a member of VFW Post 1289 and Fairview Baptist Church.
He had worked for Dickie Clay Co., and retired from Norfolk Southern Railroad.
Survivors include his wife, Loretta Harold Wilson; daughter, Retta Jean Davis, Etowah; sister, Betty Smith, Ooltewah; two brothers, David Wilson, Florida and James Wilson, Macon, Ga.; sister, Betty Smith, Ooltewah; two grandchildren.
Services will be Monday at 1 p.m. at the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with the Rev. William Swanson officiating.
Burial will be in Varnell Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 2 to 9 p.m. and from 11 a.m. until the time of service Monday at the funeral home.

Loretta J. Wilson, 84, of Ooltewah, Tn., died Tuesday, April 9, 2019.
She was preceded in death by her father, W.T. Harold, mother, Edna Duncan Bryant, husband, Roy J. “R. J.” Wilson, and her brother, Gillis Harold.
She was a former employee of the Gulas Restaurant and member of Fairview Baptist Church.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Retta and Bobby Davis, two grandchildren, Shannon and Garret Davis, all of Etowah, Tn., sister, Cleo Harold, of Ooltewah and niece, Carla Smith, of Ooltewah.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m., Saturday, April 13, 2019, in the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with Rev. Perry McAllister officiating. Interment will follow at Varnell Cemetery in Ooltewah.
The family will receive friends from 1-3 p.m., Saturday, April 13, 2019, at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Fairview Baptist Church, 6807 Snow Hill Road, Ooltewah, TN 37363.
