Nola T. Varner, 97, of Soddy-Daisy, died Monday, May 8, 2006, at her home.

Mrs. Varner was a lifelong resident of Soddy-Daisy and was a member of Union Fork Baptist.

She was a daughter of the late David and Sarah Russell Trantham and also was preceded in death by her husband, Burke Varner, a granddaughter, five sisters and three brothers.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Annette and Leon Bledsoe, of Soddy-Daisy; son and daughter-in-law, Marvin and Bobbie Varner, of Soddy-Daisy; nine grandchildren, Allen (Summer) Hackney, Jeff (Karen) Hackney, Mike (Lori) Bledsoe and Mark (Serena) Bledsoe, all of Soddy-Daisy, Tonya Parker, of Rossville, Sharon (Ken) Neighbors, Buster (Martha) Underwood, Bill (Jackie) Underwood and Jim (Sarah) Carden; 17 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Danny Kenner and the Rev. Clay Moreland officiating. Interment will be in Ware Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Adventa Hospice, 5959 Shallowford Road, Chattanooga, TN 37921.

The family will receive friends after 3 p.m. Wednesday at Legacy Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 8911 Dallas Hollow Road, Soddy Daisy, TN 37379, Phone (423)843-2525.
