SOUTH PITTSBURG -- Van Lewis died Monday, July 3, 2000, in Dunlap, Tenn.
He was 63. Formerly of Soddy-Daisy, he was retired from the U.S. Postal Service and was involved in the logging business.
He was a member of the Senior Softball Team and the National Softball Hall of Fame.
He was preceded in death by his father, Albert Lewis.
Survivors include his wife, Crystal Ball Lewis; one son, Ricky Lewis, Soddy-Daisy; one stepson, Brandon Stewart, South Pittsburg; two daughters, Sharon Furrow, Soddy-Daisy, and Celeste Lewis, South Pittsburg; mother, Estle Lewis, Soddy-Daisy; three brothers, Conrad, Nevelle and Winston Lewis; two sisters, Theresa Ritchie and Robert-Ann Moe, all of Soddy-Daisy; and two grandchildren.
The funeral will be Thursday at 11 a.m. CDT at Sequatchie Valley Memorial Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be today from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
