Rose Wilkey Sluder, 98, of Soddy-Daisy, passed away Friday, Oct. 29, 2010, at a local hospital when our sweet and loving mother went to be with Jesus and all her loved ones.
She was a member of Mile Straight Baptist Church. She was born on Feb. 20, 1912 and was preceded in death by her husband, William Taft Sluder; sons, Harold Eugene Sluder, Clifford Sluder, Douglas Sluder, William Lee Sluder; daughter, Mildred Louise Sluder; parents, Issac and Molly Wilkey; several brothers and sisters.
She is survived by her daughters, Ruth Ann Defenderfer, Joy (Morris) Ford, Gail Lasley, Sharon (Mack) Webb, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home chapel with Dr. Al Goss and the Rev. Tom Harrel officiating.
Interment will follow the service at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
Family will receive friends from 3-9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
