Almeter Jackson, 91, of Covington, passed away on Friday, April 15. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, April 18 at the Covington Funeral Home chapel with interment to follow in Magnolia Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends two hours prior the service. She is survived by one son, James Lee "Chubby" Jackson of Brighton; two daughters, Tribdean Pierce of Henderson, TN and Bertha Merriman of Houston, MS; two sisters, Sue Gardner of Covington and Nellie Fleming of Brighton; three brothers, Leroy Pruitt, Lawrence Pruitt and James Pruitt, all of Covington; 11 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 11 great great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Ray Jackson, Sr.; one son, Robert Ray Jackson, Jr.; one sister, Jewel Phelps and one brother, C. J. Pruitt.
