MARTHA L. CARTY TESTER -- BLUFF CITY --
Funeral services for Martha L. Carty Tester will be conducted Wednesday at 8 p.m. in Weaver Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Larry Barr will officiate. Burial will be Thursday at 11 a.m. in Sunrise Cemetery. Mrs. Tester, of 669 Egypt Road, died Monday, Feb. 21, 2000, in Bristol Regional Medical Center.
She was born in Piney Flats, a daughter of Mona Smith of Bristol Tennessee and the late Ed Carty. She was a lifelong resident of Bristol and a former employee of Sullivan County Landfill, a housewife and of the Baptist faith.
Surviving, besides her mother, are her husband, Sidney W. Tester; a son, S. Allen Tester of Bluff City; a sister, Betty C. Humphrey of Bluff City; two brothers, Bill Carty of Piney Flats and Eddie Carty of Gate City; three grandchildren; a great-grandson; five nieces; and a nephew.
Pallbearers will be Bobby Tester, Michael Tester, Eddie Carty, Chuck Arnold, James Osborne and Frank Osborne. Honorary pallbearers will be Johnny Wilson, Guy Wilson Jr., Chase Arnold, Michael Jenkins, Matt Jenkins and Kenny Jenkins. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. prior to the chapel service Wednesday in Weaver Funeral Home. BRISTOL HERALD COURIER FEB 23, 2000
