Jerry Douglas Green, 66, of Hixson passed away Saturday, September 17, 2011 in an area hospital.

Jerry was employed as Realty Specialist for TVA for the past 30 years. He enjoyed refereeing Football and Basketball games for TSSAA. He was an avid golfer and a member of Dallas Bay Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Violet Heard; father, Muriel Green; brothers, Dwight Heard and Johnny Green; sister, Pat Cook and grandparents, Dick and Laura Green and John and Marguerite Woodward.

Survivors include his best friend and companion, Myra Uren of Soddy-Daisy; son, Chris (Maria) Green of Rossville; step-daughter, Jennifer Gaston; brother, Gary Heard of West Palm Beach, FL; Uncle, Cotton (Jewell) Woodward of Hixson; aunt, Sarah Wood of Rossville, GA; grandchildren, Shelby Green, Adriel Green, Taylor and Peyton Uren and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 1PM on Tuesday in the Legacy Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. David McNabb, Pastor Stephen Kellogg and Bill Fairbanks officiating. Interment will follow in Union Fork Cemetery with Bill Fairbanks, Joe Pratt, Donnie Hughes, Dennis Spears, Wes Pittman and Curt Lewis serving as pallbearers, his TSSAA Crew The family will receive friends from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM on Monday and from 11:00 AM until the time of the service on Tuesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice. Arrangements are by Legacy Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Soddy-Daisy, TN 37379.
