Mandy Jane Hinds was born September 9, 1893 to parents Simeon Kandy Hinds & his spouse Caldona Conaster. Born in Jamestown, Fentress County, Tennessee, she was the 5th Child born to the union which produced 10 siblings. Mandy spent her adolescence in Fentress County and in February of 1914 was wed to widower James Floyd Reagan whose first spouse Adeline Manis had died the prior year. With this she became the Step-Mother of 5 children born to the first marriage and in 1916 they welcomed their first child of twelve total to be born over the next several years. By 1930 the family had left Fentress County for neighboring Pickett. In 1948, Husband James died of Tuberculosis and it is generally though she remained in the county until her death in 1970.
