James Floyd Reagan was born September 1, 1879 to John Thomas Reagan & Susan Elizabeth Robbins. Born in Overton County, he was the 2nd child of 11 born to the union. In 1901, James was wed to Adeline Manis and over the next decade the two had 5 children. Sadly, Adeline died in 1913. He was then wed the following year to Mandy Jane Hinds and to this union twelve more children were born. In 1948, James was diagnosed with Pulmonary Tuberculosis and died at Lady Ann Hospital in Livingston, Overton County, Tennessee March 6, 1948.
