Ruby E. Blackburn Weaver, age 89, entered into eternal peace on Saturday, June 12, 2004, at Wellmont Hospice House.
She was a native and lifelong resident of Sullivan County and a member of
Blountville Christian Church. She was a retired medical secretary from Bristol Regional Medical Center, after many years of service. Mrs. Weaver was the daughter of the late Ada (Large) and McCoy Blackburn. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Ernest D. Weaver, and two brothers, Ray Blackburn and Clarence Blackburn.
Survivors include one daughter, Mary Lou Weaver of Blountville; two sons, J. Marlin Weaver, of Blountville and Ernest "Mac" Weaver and his wife Dianna of Bristol Tennessee; two grandchildren, Chad Weaver of Nashville and Matt Weaver and his wife Regina of Blountville; a special step-great-granddaughter, Kaylee Smiley; a special sister-in-law, Louise Shoemaker, and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 15, at the
graveside in East Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel, with Rev. Dwight Shaffer and Mr. Leland Houser, minister, officiating. Entombment will follow. There will be no formal visitation, however, friends may call or visit the home of Mary Lou and Marlin Weaver at any time. Friends may also visit at Akard Funeral Home for visitor registration until an hour before the service.
The family would like to express their sincerest appreciation to Dr. James Schrenker, the staff of Sapling Grove Physicians, the staff of Wellmont Hospice House and to her special caregiver, Mrs. Mabel Leonard.
