BOLING, ROBERT PARKS ELIZABETHTON --
Robert Parks Boling, 97, of Lifecare Center, formerly of Timber Ridge Road, Bluff City, died Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2002, at Lifecare of Elizabethton. A native of Abingdon, he was the son of the late John Daniel and Bessie Everachael Cox Boling. Mr. Boling was a member of Brookside Baptist Church and retired from P.C. Cooper Construction. He was preceded in death by his wife of 69 years, Opal Boling; three brothers; and one sister.

Survivors include five sons, Robert A. Boling of Salem, Va., Cleatis Boling of Piney Flats, Forest Boling of Elizabethton, Lester G. Boling of Piney Flalts and Lynn Boling of Bluff City; two sisters, Sophia Leonard of Bristol, Tenn., and Evelyn Longacre of Jonesborough, Tenn.; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; special friend and caregiver Kitty Tolley of Hampton; and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday from the chapel of Tetrick Funeral Home Bluff City, with the Rev. Fred Potter and Rev. Sam Richards officiating. Interment will follow in Sunrise Cemetery, Bluff City. Active pallbearers will be Timothy Boling, Jeff Boling, Rick Boling, Brian Boling, Greg Boling and James Akard. Honorary pallbearers will be Carl Gross, Bud Malone, Randy Malone, Carl Sheffey, Murrell Wagner and many friends and staff at lifecare of Elizabethton. The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home chapel. BRISTOL HERALD COURIER FEB. 13, 2002
