Shirley Yearwood, 59, of Soddy-Daisy, died on Feb. 12, 2003, in Salmon, Idaho where she had lived during her lengthy illness with her daughter, Michelle Palmer. She attended Salmon Valley Baptist Church and was baptized in July 2002 by her son-in-law, Pastor Mike Palmer.

Family includes her husband, Harvey Dennis Yearwood, Soddy-Daisy; two daughters, Michelle Palmer, Salmon, Hope Yearwood, Soddy-Daisy; two sons, Barry (Debbie) Yearwood, Ringgold, and Lyle Yearwood, Atlanta; two grandchildren, Zeb (Joy) Palmer, Boise, Idaho, and Brittney Bennett, Chattanooga; along with many extended family members. In addition to family she will be missed by her best friends, Sharon Fitzgerald Keith Turner and Darlene Yearwood, as well as many aerobics, walking, and neighborhood friends.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday at the Coulter Chapel of Lane Funeral Home with Pastors Mike Palmer and Don Lasley officiating.

Interment will be in Wilcoxen Cemetery.

The family will receive friends 4-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family for assistance with expenses and should be mailed to Shirley Yearwood Memorial Fund, C/O Amsouth Bank, 11314 Dayton Pike, Soddy Daisy, TN 37379.
