Lorine Varnell, 78, of Chattanooga died Monday evening, Dec. 10, 2001.
Ms. Varnell had lived all of her life in the Chattanooga area and was a graduate of Tyner High School and Edmondson School of Business. She was a member of Silverdale Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She was retired from TVA with 38 years of service.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lester Franklin and Effie Moore Varnell.
Survivors include one sister, Gladys V. Johnson of Chattanooga; niece, Charlene J. Hixson of Chattanooga; nephews, Wayne E. Johnson, C. Leslie Johnson and Craig D. Johnson, all of Chattanooga; two great-nieces, Kendra H. McMahan of Chattanooga and Nicole Johnson of Nashville; three great-nephews, Scott F. Johnson of Harlingen, Texas, David L. Johnson and Phillip L. Johnson, both of Chattanooga.
Funeral services will be 11:30 a.m. Thursday at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with Rev. Olen G. Russell officiating.
The interment will follow the service in Silverdale Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, S. Moore Road.
