James Edward “Ed” Welch, 80, of Harrison passed away on Saturday, February 13, 2016. He was a farmer and retired carpenter. He was well known in the area and was an avid horseback rider and loved coon hunting.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary “Hub” Welch; parents, John and Jessie Self Welch and several siblings.
He is survived by his son, Todd Welch; daughter, Kathy Cook; brothers, Steve and Charles Welch, all of Harrison; sisters, Juanita Morgan and Pat Welch of Ooltewah and Norma Sue Leamon of Harrison; 4 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Monday, February 15, 2016 from 4-8 pm at the Hwy 58 Chapel of Turner Funeral home or you may visit the online guestbook @ www.turnerfamilyfuneralhome.com
Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 16, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Ronnie Dotson officiating. Interment will follow in Holder Cemetery.

Mary Lou "Hub" Welch, 65, of Harrison, died on Monday, Oct. 3, 2005.
She was of the Baptist faith and was retired from McKee Bakery with 31 years of service.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Dessie Garrett; sister, Iva Lee Gray; and brothers, Doyle Garrett, Lowell Garrett and Carrey Garrett.
She is survived by her husband, Ed Welch, of Harrison; children, Kathy Cook and Todd Welch, of Harrison; sisters, Evelyn Lackey, of Georgetown, and Sue Hudson; brother, W.T. Garrett, of Cleveland; and four grandchildren, Josh Cook, Jason Cook, D.J. Welch and Ally Welch.
Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. on Friday, at Gamble Road Baptist Church with the Rev. Gurney Beard and the Rev. Ronnie Dotson officiating. Interment will be held at Gamble Road Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Eric Faulkner, Jeremy Griffin, Andal Burke, Jeremy Welch, Ryan Norris, Brandon Bray and Adam Hickman.
The family will receive friends from 4-9 p.m. Wednesday, and 4-9 p.m. on Thursday at Jim Rush Funeral Home, Cleveland, TN.
Arrangements are by Whitwell Memorial Funeral Home, Whitwell, TN.
