Wanda J. “Joan” Welch, age 67 a resident of Fayetteville, NC, formerly of Cleveland, TN passed away Friday, June 4, 2010.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Dick and Ruth Cranfield; her husband: Frank Welch; brother: Tommy Cranfield; her sister: Dixie Cranfield; her niece: Joanne Arthur; her nephew: Lonnie Cranfield; grandson: Frank Hall; uncles: Lester Arthur, E.W. Arthur, Howard Hargis, and John Cranfield; aunt: Kay Cranfield McCall.
Mrs. Welch was retired but had worked many years at Fort Bragg Rod and Gun Club and at Fort Bragg Officer’s Club.
She is survived by her children: Skip Hall and his wife Debra of Port St. Lucie, FL; daughter: Tracey Woodruff and her husband Tom of Marietta, GA; son: Scott Wingard and his wife Wanda of Fayetteville, NC; son: Patrick Welch of Fayetteville, NC; grandchildren: Brandy Hall Lodzinski and her husband Rudy of Brick, NJ, Matthew Hall of Port St. Lucie, FL, Katherine Hall of Port St. Lucie, Fl, Joshua Wingard of Fayetteville, NC, Jeremy Wingard of Fayetteville, NC, and JoAnn Welch of Fayetteville, NC; great grandchildren: Sean Lodzinski of Brick, NJ, Karen Lodzinski of Brick, NJ, and Alyissa Hall of Morehead City, NC; brother: Jay Cranfield and his wife Sara of Ringgold, GA; nephew: Steven Young and his wife Patty; niece: Cara Cranfield Cox and her son Tommy Cranfield of Marietta, GA; nephew: Joe Cranfield and his wife Stephanie of Ringgold, GA and their Children Scotter Cranfield and Jace Cranfield. Additional survivors include her aunts: Jean Cranfield Hargis of Birchwood, TN, Rolley Aurthur of Cleveland, TN, and Betty Cranfield of Rexford, NY; her friend and companion Ike Isaacsof Fayetteville, NC along with several other cousins.
The Remembrance of Life Memorial Service and Interment will be Saturday, July 10, 2010 at 11:00AM from the Anderson Cemetery with Reverend Anthony Cameron officiating. The family will receive friends and family after the graveside service at the home of Jean Cranfield Hargis. Food will be catered by Cook’s. The family has requested that memorials be made to the American Cancer Society in memory of Joan Welch, 850 Fortwood Street, Chattanooga, TN 37403.
