Obituary:
May McGhee Millsaps, 99, of Chattanooga, died Friday, January 7, 2011. She was a retired City of Chattanooga school teacher at Kirkman High, EastSide, and Hardy Jr. Highs. She was a graduate of George Peabody College. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Millsaps, and son, Gary Millsaps.
Survivors include her sons, Charles (Shelby) Millsaps of Chattanooga; grandsons, Travis (Gail) Millsaps, and Scott Millsaps, all of Murfreesboro, TN; and daughter-in-law, Janice Millsaps.
The funeral service will be Sunday, January 9, at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel at Williamson & Sons Funeral Home with Dr. Bryant Millsaps officiating. Interment will follow at Millsaps Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Tennessee Baptist Children’s Home, P O Box 2206, Brentwood, TN 37024, or to a favorite charity. Visitation is 12:30 p.m. until time of service on Sunday at the funeral home.
