Barbara Simmons, 85, was reunited with the love of her life on Thursday, March 18, 2021, with a host of family and friends at her bedside. Barbara was a strong, unmovable wife that stood beside her husband and her children. She was the First Lady of Straightway Holiness Church for over a quarter of a century. She was a woman of faith and a woman of prayer. She was a faithful mentor to many in their walk with Christ. Her boys want to give a special thanks to their sister and her husband for their love and opening their home up to their mama. She will be greatly missed by her loving family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Aaron Clinton Simmons; son, Robert Clinton Simmons; mother, Bonnie Belcher; brother, Buddy McClure; and sister, Rachel Beene.

Survivors include her children, Rodger L. Simmons, Kenneth L. Simmons (Ashley), Tammy Byrd (Bo), Rev. Aaron Troy Simmons (Angie); 7 grandchildren, Misty McPeters (Brian), Jeremy Crowe (Lacey), Chad Crowe (Tiffany), Hunter Simmons (Katie), Daniel Simmons, Alexandria Brown (Dylan), Madison Simmons, a special thank you to Tanner Harvey for being there for her; 6 great grandchildren; and a very precious sister that has stood by her side always, Dortha McKaig.

Services will be held in the funeral home chapel on Monday, March 22, 2021, at 3:00 P.M. with Rev. Troy Simmons officiating. Burial will follow at Dodd Cemetery. Visitation is on Sunday, March 21, 2021 from 1:00 until 8:00 P.M.

*Tribute for Aaron Simmons
Rev. Aaron Clinton Simmons, departed this walk of life to go to his long awaited eternal home. Aaron was 84. He resided in his home town of many years, Soddy-Daisy, a place he loved, cherished and where he was loved by many. His life was ministering the gospel for 46 years ministering with love to all he met. Everyone that ever knew our daddy loved him and he loved everyone. Our daddy was the epitome of love. His heart was pastoring where he pastored many churches but his greatest love was at Straightway Holiness Church where he pastored over a quarter of a decade. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Raymond Simmons and Faye Simmons; beloved son who welcomed him home, Robert C. Simmons.

He is survived by his loving and always supportive companion of 61 years, Barbara Simmons; children, Rodger L. Simmons (Rhonda), Kenneth L. Simmons, Tammy Byrd (Wayne), Rev. Aaron Troy Simmons (Angie); 7 grandchildren, Misty Simmons, Jeremy Crowe (Lacey), Chad Crowe, Hunter Simmons, Daniel Simmons, Alexandria Simmons, Madison Simmons; 5 great grandchildren; siblings, Ted Simmons (Peggy) and Betty Hopkins of Arab, Alabama and a host of family and friends that adored him. His family will carry him with love and adoration to his final resting place on this side of Jordan.

Services will be held on Monday, December 19, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with his son, Rev. Troy Simmons officiating. Burial will follow at Dodd Cemetery. Visitation is Sunday from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
