Farris C. Archer, 68. retired heavy equipment operator for Griffith Construction, died Thursday at Baptist Hospital-Tipton. Services will be on Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Covington Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow in the Magnolia Gardens Cemetery. Mr. Archer, the husband of Dorothy Beasley Archer, also leaves one daughter, Carla Joyner of Brighton; one step-daughter, Di-Ann Jones of Alamo; two sons, Farris C. Archer II of Drummonds and Clint Archer of Munford; two step-sons, Charles Barry of Covington and Allen Cox of Brighton; two sisters, Lousie Murphy of Drummonds and Carolyn Beasley of Jackson; 17 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. The family requests that donations be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
