Michael Ray Walker, age 30 of Soddy-Daisy, Tennessee died on Feb 8, 2007 at his residence. He was born in Chattanooga, TN. He was of the Christian faith. Michael was a gifted musician and many articles were written about his many accomplishments. He won the Kentucky State Championship several times and began playing the Banjo in July 1986.
He started his banjo lessons with Clyde Blaylock and appeared on the Mountain Opry and on the Ralph Emery Show with Mike Snyder and was introduced as the best banjo player.
  
He appeared on the Mickey Mouse Club and his name appears on the Walk of Fame in Disney Land in California.

He was known as the Banjo Kid and several articles have been written about him in the Chattanooga Times Press.

Survivors include, Father and Mother, Ray and Judy Walker of Soddy-Daisy, Daughter, Destiny Walker of Dayton, TN Sisters, Charlotte Nelson of Sale Creek, Angela Patterson and Lisa Walker both of Soddy-Daisy, Sandy Ward of Red Bank Several nieces and nephews

 Funeral Services will be 3:30 p.m. Sunday at Williamson and Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Sonny D. Wilkes officiating.    
Interment will follow in the East Soddy Church of God Cemetery.
Family will receive friends on Saturday from 3-9 p.m. at the Funeral Home.
