BRISTOL, Tenn. William H. Overbey Sr., age 91, passed away Friday, July 15, 2011, at Wellmont Bristol
Regional Medical Center. He was a graduate of Tennessee High School. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a loan officer
at First American until his retirement in 1982. He was a member of Rosemont Presbyterian Church, where he served as softball
league secretary, treasurer and president, Sunday school supt., treasurer, deacon and elder. He was preceded in death by his
parents, Albert and Ada Godsey Overbey; his wife, Irma Louise Overbey; brother, James Overbey; and sister, Shirley Overbey
Godsey. Survivors include one daughter, Laney Overbey Ingram and husband, Richard, of Pleasant Garden, N.C.; one son, Hal
Overbey Jr. and wife, Belle, of Bristol, Tenn.; one sister, Mildred Burroughs of Bristol, Tenn.; two brothers, Fred Overbey and
Albert (Bay) Overbey, both of Bristol, Tenn.; two grandchildren, Jesse and Joey Overbey; one great-grandchild; several nieces and
nephews and long time friend, Anne Maines. The graveside service will be conducted at 1:30 p.m., Sunday, July 17, 2011, in
Glenwood Cemetery Mausoleum Chapel with the Rev. Stephen Playl officiating. Military rites will be conducted by the Bristol VFW
Honor. The family will receive friends after the service. Honorary pallbearers will be Richard Ingram, Belle Overbey, Joey Overbey,
Jesse Overbey, nieces and nephews and caregiver Teresa Foster. Email condolences may be sent to the family at
