Ivalee Ellen Briggs, age 77, of Gray, TN went home to be with the Lord on Friday, February 1, 2013. She was born in Carter County to the late John Jackson Cable and Lethia Burchfield Cable, and has been a resident of this area her entire life. Ivalee was a member of Calvary Freewill Baptist Church in the Fordtown area. She retired from Little and Adams working through Tennessee Eastman She loved going to auctions, gem mining, and spending time with friends at the Sittin' Bull. She loved Bluegrass music, but she most enjoyed and loved her family and grandchildren.

She is also preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Briggs in 2010, and her son, Ricky Briggs, in 1961. Preceding also are her brothers, William Charles (Bill) Cable, and Junior Reno Cable, and sisters Shirley Heaton, and Christine Cable.

Survivors include her children, Mike Briggs and Wife, Donna, of Kingsport, Tennessee, Jeff and Debra Briggs, of Elizabethton, Tennessee, Patricia Taylor and Husband, Elvis, of Limestone, Tennessee, and Gaye Wilder and Husband, Marvin, of Mt. Carmel, Tennessee; brother, Kenneth Cable, of Elizabethton, Tennessee, and sister, Mitzi Toney and husband, Jim, of Elizabethton, Tennessee; grandchildren, Jason Spoon, Stefanie Greer, Tiffany Bailey, Jeremy Moore, Heather Swiney, Bryan Wilder, and Lana Lane; eleven great grandchildren, and honorary grandchildren, Haley Smith, Austin Smith, and Allie Harrison; several nieces and nephews and her special companion, Glen Randall and his children, Sissy Miller, Chris Randall, and Lee.

The family of Ivalee Briggs will recieve friends from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Monday, February 4, 2013, at Tri-Cities Funeral Home, with funeral services being conducted in our Chapel at 8:00 P.M. with Rev. Bo Castle officiating. Graveside services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, February 5, 2013 at Tri-Cities Memory Gardens with Joey Harrison speaking.
