Jerry David Briggs, 80, of Gray, went to be with Jesus on Tuesday, November 9, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. at VA Medical Center.

Born in Flag Pond, Tennessee, he had spent the last 50 years in Gray, coming from Sulphur Springs. Jerry was retired from Klopman Mills after 32 years service, and was a Veteran of the U.S. Army, he was also a member of Calvary Freewill Baptist Church.

He was a devoted Husband, Daddy and Papaw, and will be missed by all. Jerry loved fishing, hunting, and motorcycles, and traveled until his illness.

He is preceded in death by his Parents, Seth B. Briggs and Virgie McIntosh Briggs; and son, Richard Keith (Ricky) Briggs; and several Brothers and Sisters.

Survivors include his Wife, Iva Lee Cable Briggs, of the home; Sons, Mike Briggs and Wife, Donna, of Kingsport, and Jeffrey Lynn Briggs and Wife, Debra, of Elizabethton; Daughters, Patricia (Patty) Taylor and Husband, Elvis, of Limestone, and Gay Lynette Wilder and Husband, Marvin, of Mt. Carmel; Brother, A.R. (Rush) Briggs and Wife, Hathaway, of Sulphur Springs; Sister, Dorothy (Dot) Mion and Husband, Tony, of Cleveland, Ohio; Grandchildren, Jason Spoon and Wife, Tina, Stefanie Greer and Husband, Harry, Tiffany Bailey and Husband, Adam, Jeremy Moore, Heather Briggs, Bryan Wilder and Wife, Michelle, Lana Lane; Great-Grandchildren, Dylan Lane, Dawson Lane, Tristan Lane, Seth Wilder, Emma Moore, Cameron Church, Brandon Spoon, Isabelle "Belle" Ford, Haley Brown, Lexie Brown, Zoe Greer, Addison Bailey; Very Special Children, Hailey Smith, Allie Harrison, Austin Smith, Ariella Jones, Aaron Jones; Several Nieces and Nephews; Special Friends, Otis Vandyke and Eddie Bragg.

Family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday November 10, 2010, at Tri-Cities Funeral Home with Funeral Services being conducted at 8:00 p.m. in the chapel with Rev. Dewey Shaffer and Pastor Jerry Keasling officiating.

Military Graveside Service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Thursday November 11, 2010, at Tri-Cities Memory Gardens with American Legion Hammond Post #3, Gate City Post #265 and Tennessee Army National Guard. Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Rollins, Otis Vandyke, Joey Harrison, Jim Toney, Jeremy Moore, Kenneth Cable, Eddie Bragg and Donald Cable.

Ivalee Ellen Briggs, age 77, of Gray, TN went home to be with the Lord on Friday, February 1, 2013. She was born in Carter County to the late John Jackson Cable and Lethia Burchfield Cable, and has been a resident of this area her entire life. Ivalee was a member of Calvary Freewill Baptist Church in the Fordtown area. She retired from Little and Adams working through Tennessee Eastman She loved going to auctions, gem mining, and spending time with friends at the Sittin' Bull. She loved Bluegrass music, but she most enjoyed and loved her family and grandchildren.

She is also preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Briggs in 2010, and her son, Ricky Briggs, in 1961. Preceding also are her brothers, William Charles (Bill) Cable, and Junior Reno Cable, and sisters Shirley Heaton, and Christine Cable.

Survivors include her children, Mike Briggs and Wife, Donna, of Kingsport, Tennessee, Jeff and Debra Briggs, of Elizabethton, Tennessee, Patricia Taylor and Husband, Elvis, of Limestone, Tennessee, and Gaye Wilder and Husband, Marvin, of Mt. Carmel, Tennessee; brother, Kenneth Cable, of Elizabethton, Tennessee, and sister, Mitzi Toney and husband, Jim, of Elizabethton, Tennessee; grandchildren, Jason Spoon, Stefanie Greer, Tiffany Bailey, Jeremy Moore, Heather Swiney, Bryan Wilder, and Lana Lane; eleven great grandchildren, and honorary grandchildren, Haley Smith, Austin Smith, and Allie Harrison; several nieces and nephews and her special companion, Glen Randall and his children, Sissy Miller, Chris Randall, and Lee.

The family of Ivalee Briggs will recieve friends from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Monday, February 4, 2013, at Tri-Cities Funeral Home, with funeral services being conducted in our Chapel at 8:00 P.M. with Rev. Bo Castle officiating. Graveside services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, February 5, 2013 at Tri-Cities Memory Gardens with Joey Harrison speaking.
