Anthony Lee "Sonny" Hollomon age 74 went to be with the Lord June 17, 2013 at the Wellmont Hospice House. Mr. Hollomon was born November 19, 1938 in Cairo, Illinois the son of the late Weldon Anthony Hollomon and Martha Alice Easterwood Hollomon. Mr. Hollomon served his country in the United States Army. He enjoyed volunteering his time to the Sullivan Central High School band and athletics; he was a diesel mechanic, truck driver, and retired with the Sullivan Co. Highway Department. Mr. Hollomon was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Bristol, TN, a member of the television ministry and was the in house sound technician. He is preceded in death by his wife of 31 years Dorothy Jean Smith Hollomon, his brother Gary Hollomon and sister-in-law: Evelyn Blevins
Mr. Hollomon is survived by his wife Barbara Stidham Hollomon, son: Mark Hollomon and wife Jessica of Kingsport, TN, life long best friend Bob Dishner and wife Mary of Bluff City, TN, sisters: Katie Bernhard of Blountville, TN, Margie Faust of Tullahoma, TN and Vivian Cartwright of Mexico, Brother-in-laws: Ed Smith and Kyle Blevins
Brother and Sister-in-laws Charles and Peggy Smith of Bristol, VA and Jim and Ruth Ann Smith of Blountville, TN
Special Friends: Sylvia Sams and a grand cat Millie
A funeral service for Mr. Hollomon will be held P.M. with Rev. Tony Trunnell and Rev. Rex Hill Saturday June 22, 2013 in the Weaver Funeral Home Chapel at 1:00 officiating, with music provided by Wanda Leonard and Mark Hollomon. The burial will follow in the Tri- Cities Memory Gardens where the VFW assisted by the Tennessee National Guard will conduct military honors. The family will receive friends Friday June 21, 2013 at Weaver Funeral Home from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.
Pallbearers will be Bob Dishner, Jimmy Stidham, Jerry Bacon, David Ward, Ike Lowry, Roger Morrison, Dennis Brent and Bob Malone
Honorary Pallbearers will be Curly Carr, Robert Vanover the employees of the Sullivan Co. Highway Department and the Calvary Baptist Church Television Ministry
The family would like to specially thank the staff at Wellmont Bristol Regional Medical Center, Health South, Advanced Home Health Care, NHC of Johnson City and Wellmont Hospice House
