Glenn Oscar Carrier BRISTOL, Tenn. Glenn Oscar Carrier, 85, went to be with his Heavenly Father on Monday Feb. 6, 2012, at Bristol Regional Medical Center. He was a son of the late Charles Oscar Carrier and Georgia Belle Allison Carrier. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Eva Beverly. A native of Bristol, Tenn., he was a veteran having served in the US Navy during WWII. After his discharge from the Navy, he completed his high school education and graduated from Holston Valley High School. He worked as an electrician in the area, retiring from TVA. He was a member of the King Lodge No. 461, and an active member of Elizabeth Chapel United Methodist Church for over 50 years. He was a TSSAA football, baseball and basketball referee for many years. He was devoted to his wife, children, grandchildren and friends. Glenn is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Betty Glover Carrier; two sons, Greg Carrier and wife Mary Carter Carrier, and Chris Carrier and wife Valerie Miller Carrier both of Bristol, Tenn.; brother, Bob "Slick" Carrier of Blountville, Tenn.; sister, Minnie Lee Odum of Springfield, Tenn.; three grandchildren, Jonathan Carrier and wife Krystal of Johnson City, Tenn., Katie Carrier Arnold and husband Josh, and Emily Carrier, both of Bristol, Tenn.; great-grandson, Carter Carrier; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 5 until 6:45 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2012, at Oakley-Cook Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 7 p.m. with and the Rev. Tom Reed and Dennis Milhorn officiating. The committal service and entombment will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 9, 2012, in the Heritage Chapel of Memories at Glenwood Cemetery, with military honors provided by the Bristol VFW Honor Guard. Honorary pallbearers will be Jonathan Carrier, Josh Arnold, Derek Wagner, Jeff Davis, Jeff Tester and David Woods.
