Lawrence E. Christian, age 72, of Bristol, TN passed away on Tuesday, July 31, 2012 in the Wellmont Hospice House.

He was born October 19, 1939 in the Indian Springs Community in Kingsport, TN a son of the late J.C. and Maude Smith Christian, and he lived his life in the Bristol area.

He was retired from HVAC Heating and Air Conditioning, and was a former employee of Penley Construction Company.

Lawrence was a member of Virginia Avenue Baptist Church, and was a U.S. Air Force Veteran. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.

He is survived by: His loving wife of 48 years: Dot Christian, Daughters: Kim Thompson-Gehman and husband Rolf Gehman, Jana Ringley and husband Chris, Son: Brian Christian and wife Cindy, Four Grandchildren: Dustin Bowman, Nick Bowman, Kayla Thompson and Rachel Thompson, Three Special Great Grandchildren: Christopher Wampler, Peyton Bowman and Haylee Bowman, Brother: Claude Christian, Four Sisters: Elizabeth Baines, Bertha Ragan, Gladys Carrier, Mary Vance.

There will be a family entombment service held at Glenwood Mausoleum at 1:00 pm, August 2, 2012 with Rev. Jim Oxendine officiating.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, August 2, 2012 at 7:00 pm.at the Paperville United Methodist Church, 158 Church Circle, Bristol, TN.

In lieu of flowers the family request memorials may be made to the Wellmont Hospice House, 280 Steeles Rd., Bristol, TN 37620.

Military Honors will be conducted by the Bristol VFW Honor Guard. Online condolences may be registered at www.weaverfuneralhome.net.

Arrangements have been made with Weaver Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
