Gladys Marie Conant Barnes, age 78, of Blountville, Tennessee went to be with the Lord, Friday, March 8, 2013 in the Cambridge House. She was born October 26, 1934 in Surgoinsville, Tennessee , and she lived most of her life in the Blountville area. She was the co-owner and operator of Bennie's Saw Shop in Blountville, and was a member of the Blountville United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Barnes is preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin Franklin "Bennie" Barnes, five sisters and three brother. She is survived by:

Daughters: Gwendolyn Barnes, Dee Dee Jones, Annette Houser and husband Allen

Grandchildren: Derrick Barnes, Amber Watson, Hunter Barnes, PFC Justin Houser serving with the United States Marine Corps., and Ben Houser

Great Grandchild: Camryn Muniz

Several Nieces and Nephews also survive.

A funeral service will be held 7pm Monday, March 11, 2013 in the Weaver Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Charles Ensminger officiating and eulogy by Carl Houser. The entombment will be held 11:00 am Tuesday in the Glenwood Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7pm prior to the service at the funeral home or other times at the home of her daughter, Annette Houser, 234 Oak Place, Blountville, Tn. 37617. Family will serve as pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association, Tennessee Affiliate, 4205 Hillsboro Rd., Suite 200, Nashville, TN 37215-9805. Online condolences may be registered at www.weaverfuneralhome.net. Arrangements have been made with Weaver Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
