Frank Eugene Cookenour, 84, 2017 Brookwood Road, Kingsport, died Friday (Sept. 7, 1990) at Indian Path Medical Center after an extended illness.
A resident of Scott County, Va., most of his life, he retired in 1971 from the Tennessee Eastman Company in the power and services department. He was a member of Sullivan Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Florida L. Cookenour, in 1965; and his second wife, Hallie Starnes, in 1979.
Surviving are one daughter, Bettie Cookenour, Kingsport; one son, Don Cookenour, Kingsport; one step-granddaughter; one step-great-granddaughter; several nieces and nephews.
Calling hourse are from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at East Lawn Funeral Home.
Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Jessie Wooten officiating.
Burial will be in East Lawn Memorial Park.
Memorial contributions may be made to Sullivan Baptist Church or to the charity of the donor's choice.

Florida
December 4, 1905 - January 20, 1965
Mrs. Florida Cookenour, 59, of 4101 Ridge Road, Sullivan Gardens, died in Holston Valley Community Hospital at 12:45 p.m. Wednesday (January 20, 1965) after a lingering illness.
She was a life-long resident of Sullivan County a member of the Sullivan Gardens Baptist Church.
Surviving are her husband, Frank E. Cookenour; daughter, Miss Betty Cookenour of Arlington, VA; son, Don Cookenour, Kingsport; sisters, Mrs. S.M. Sizemore, Mrs. Bust Conkin, Mrs. W.G. Hilton and Mrs. Orgie Crawford, all of Kingsport; Mrs. Earl Sherfey, Church Hill; Mrs. Tom Jobe, Lake City, TN, and Mrs. Paul Dunn, Port Clinton, Ohio; and brothers, Charles and Robert Hickman, Kingsport.
The family received friends at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home from 7-9 p.m. Thursday
The body was taken to Sullivan Gardens Baptist Church one hour before the funeral.
The funeral was conducted at 2p.m. Friday (January 22, 1965) at the church by Rev. Truman Smith and Rev. F.M. Brown officiating.
Burial was at East Lawn Memorial Park
