KINGSPORT - Frankie Barnette, 83, died peacefully Tuesday (Sept. 19, 2000) at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center following an extended illness.
She was born in Scott County, Va. and had resided in Kingsport since 1942.
She was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church and had sang with the Bays Mountain Quartet for several years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Quillin and Emmer Moore Willis; two sisters, Venice Sizemore, and Eva Matlock; and brother, Giles Willis.
Surviving are her husband,two daughters and sons-in-law, all of Kingsport; three grandchildren,four great-grandchildren, six sisters, one brother,and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours are from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, downtown.
Services will be conducted at 8 p.m. Friday in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Wayne Baker officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in East Lawn Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Jack Berry, C.A. Berry, Frank Berry, Harry Moore, N.E. Moore, and Jerry Smith.
