Marjorie Turner Waldrop, 71, 536 Mountain View Road, Bluff City, went to be with her Lord, Tuesday, January 2, 2007, at Johnson City Medical Center following a brief illness. A native of Scott County, VA, she was a daughter of the late Arnold and Leona Green Turner. She currently attended Blessed Redeemer Baptist Church and was previously a member of the First Baptist Church of Bluff City. Mrs. Waldrop was a retired employee of Unisys/Univac and a 1955 graduate of Bluff City High School. She was the cornerstone of her family and will be missed by all. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Waldrop; three brothers, James Edward Turner, Franklin Andrew Turner and Clarence Turner; and one sister Virginia Turner Balthis. Survivors include one son, Tim Turner of Bluff City, TN; one stepdaughter, Donna Waldrop King of Williamsburg, VA, one grandson, Anthony of Williamsburg, VA and two sisters and brothers-in-law, Betty and Elby "Buck" Stanley of Bluff City, TN and Mabel and Lewis Guinn of Johnson City, TN. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
The Celebration of Life service will be conducted at 11:00 A.M., Friday, January 5, 2007 at Tetrick Funeral Home - Bluff City Chapel with Bro. Michael Sproles and Bro Steve Guinn officiating. The graveside and interment service will follow in Sunrise Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Chris Turner, Robert Turner, Jeff Turner, Chad Stanley, Bill Becker and Kevin Guinn. Honorary pallbearers will be Elby Stanley, Curtis Turner, Michael Turner and nephews and friends of the family. The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M., Thursday, January 4, 2007 at Tetrick Funeral Home - Bluff City Chapel and other times at the residence or the residence of a sister, Betty Stanley, 546 Mtn. View Road, Bluff City. Condolences may be sent to the family through our website at www.tetrickfuneralhome.com.
