Margaret E. Plank Turner, 73, 526 Mountain View Road, Bluff City went home to be with her Lord and Savior after a brief illness at the Wellmont Hospice House in Bristol. She was a life long resident of Sullivan County and was a daughter of the late John Ed Plank, Sr. and Virgie Lee Hicks Plank. Margaret was a member of the Blessed Redeemer Independent Baptist Church and also a member of the Chinquapin Senior Citizens. Margaret was a certified CNA for several friends and neighbors throughout the county. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, James Edward Turner, a son James Allen Turner, four brothers, G. L. Plank, Paul Plank, H.C. "Bud" Plank and John Ed Plank, Jr. and a sister, Sarah "Sis" Edna Roberts. Survivors include one son, Robert Turner and wife Lagenia of Piney Flats, one sister, Molly Ball of Winston Salem, NC and two brothers, Pete Plank of Bluff City and Frank Plank of Shelby, NC. Several nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews also survive.
The funeral service will be conducted at 8:00 P.M., Thursday, November 4, 2010 at Tetrick Funeral Home – Bluff City Chapel with Rev. Mike Sproles, Rev Frank Osborne and Rev. Stevie Guinn officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. prior to the service in the chapel and other times at her residence or her son's residence, 220 Webb Road, Piney Flats. The graveside service and interment will be at 11:00 A.M., Friday in Sunrise Cemetery, Bluff City. Ministers, family and friends are requested to meet at the cemetery at 10:55 A.M. Honorary pallbearers will be Nephews. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the Wellmont Hospice House in Bristol. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Wellmont Hospice House, 280 Steeles Road, Bristol, TN 37620.
