Orville July 3, 1920 - April 18, 2005
Rev. Orville E. Richards, age 84, 568 Circle Drive, Bluff City, died Monday, April 18, 2005 at the residence of a son, Dwight Richards, 612 Circle Drive, Bluff City, following an extended illness. A native of Bluff City, Tennessee, he was a son of the late Samuel and Bertha Lyon Richards. Rev. Richards was a member of Chinquapin Grove Baptist Church and was a pastor of various churches in this region since 1942. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and a member of the Zollicoffer Masonic Lodge #444 F & AM. He was also a member of the Scottish Rite, Valley of Knoxville. Rev. Richards was preceded in death by his wife, Edith Carr Richards and one son, Douglas Richards. Survivors include three sons, Gene Richards, Earl Richards and Dwight Richards all of Bluff City; seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Richards of Bluff City and Louise Umberger of Bristol; special friends, Terry Cook and Debbie. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

The graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, April 20, 2005 at Sunrise Cemetery, Bluff City with Rev. Steve Hensley officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be Jim Pepper, J.C. Carr, Joe Carr, Elbert Nichols, Robert Lyon, Bill Nelson, Woody Crowder and Ronnie Morrell. Everyone will meet at the cemetery at 10:50 A.M., Wednesday for the graveside service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Chinquapin Grove Baptist Church Building Fund, 1727 Chinquapin Grove Road, Bluff City, Tennessee 37618. The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M., Tuesday, April 19, 2005 at Tetrick Funeral Home - Bluff City Chapel or other times at the residence of a son, Dwight Richards, 612 Circle Drive, Bluff City. Mary Edith Richards, 80, 568 Circle Drive, Bluff City, died Thursday, May 6, 1999, in the Bristol Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Richards was a native of Carter County and a daughter of the late Cannie and Rena Shipley Carr. She was preceded in death by one son, Douglas Richards, two brothers and two sisters.
She was a member of the Chinquapin Grove Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Orville Richards, Bluff City; three sons: Earl L. Richards, Dayton E. Richards, and Dwight O. Richards, all of Bluff City; one brother, J.C. Carr, Bluff City; eight sisters: Gladys Ward, Zula Carter, Beulah Buckles, Wanda Minton, Olla Mae Bradley, Louicella Brooks, Evelyn McDuffie, and Ann Duly, all of Elizabethton.
Tetrick Funeral Home-Bluff City Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.

RICHARDS --Funeral service for Mary Edith Richards, 80, 568 Circle Drive, Bluff City, who died Thursday, will be conducted Saturday, May 8, 1999, at 8 p.m. with the Rev. Stephen Hensley officiating. Graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 9, 1999, from the Sunrise Cemetery. Those who wish to attend the graveside service are requested to meet at the cemetery at 1:50 p.m. for the service. The family will receive friends Saturday from 7-8 p.m. in the chapel of the funeral home. Tetrick Funeral Home-Bluff City Chapel is in charge of the arrangements
