Naomi Cross Venable, age 79, of Bristol, Tennessee passed away on Sunday, September 4, 2011 at the Cambridge House.
She was born November 1, 1931 in Bristol, Virginia and has lived all of her life in the Bristol area. She was a member of Virginia Avenue Baptist Church.
She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and sister. She loved her entire family dearly and was known to all as Aunt Sibby.
She was preceded in death by her husband- Billy W. Venable, mother-Launa Cross Buchanan, step father-Lloyd Buchanan, and Father-Dexter Cross.
She is survived by:
Daughters: Gayle Shull and Jimmy Dempsey, Jackie Edmonds, Jody Broyles and husband Jerry Broyles
Grandchildren: Brandon Shull and wife Sarah, Stacy Shull Kennedy, Tabitha Edmonds Pacheco and husband Timmy, Zac Broyles and wife Lisa, Seth Broyles
Five Great Grandchildren: Tiffany Edmonds, Josslyn Pacheco, Alexis Kennedy, Lukas Shull and Jadyn Broyles
Sisters: Betty Brooks and husband Bill, Linda Hicks and husband Tom, Judy Wilson and husband David
Brother: George Cross
Several Nieces, Nephews
A funeral service will be held 8pm, Monday, September 12, 2011 in the Weaver Funeral Home Chapel with services performed by nephew, Bill Brooks and cousin E.D. Perry.
The burial will be 11am Tuesday in Sunrise Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:45pm prior to the service Monday evening at the funeral home.
